美國麻薩諸塞大學(University of Massachusetts)的心理學家費德曼(Robert S. Feldman)研究發現，有60%的人在10分鐘的談話中至少會撒謊1次、平均說謊次數則是2到3次。
說謊的原因是試圖在他人面前，表現出討喜和能幹的感覺。
